Thursday 29th August - Day 4

Kruger National Park - It is best to get to Kruger Park as soon as it opens so we leave early in our safari vehicles, it is only 20 minutes to the gate. The southernmost part of the park is best for animal sightings. If we are lucky, we will see all the Big 5 during the day. Every encounter is different, and the animals are generally unconcerned about the proximity of gawking, camera clicking humans. The list of animals from bush babies to zebras is long, but you are sure to see herds of antelope, warthogs, rhino, giraffes, elephants, hyenas and wildebeests. We will stop at a refreshment camp for cool drinks and lunch but look out for the cheeky monkeys who will snatch food after a moment’s inattention. Relax in the late afternoon back at our own “Hollow” and then enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant. (B,L,D)

Tuesday 10th September - Day 16

Zambia — Victoria Falls — Sunset Cruise - Today we are off to Victoria Falls airport in Zambia on a flight at 10:40am, arriving at 1:15pm. This is the best place to see the fabulous gorges of the Zambezi River and the many cataracts that make up the mighty Mosi oa Tunya (“The Smoke that Thunders”) otherwise known as the Victoria Falls. After check-in we will walk to the Mosi oa Tunya National Park where we can see the river as it approaches the falls. Tonight we will be out on the Zambezi River on a sundowner cruise. This is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the river and get a glimpse of hippo, crocodile and elephants in their home environment. Dinner tonight is included at our hotel, The Victoria Falls Resort, and is a buffet with a wide selection of dishes, from familiar and some very unique, for the be brave to try. (B,D)
