Wednesday 31 July – Glass House Mountains Day 8

Half an hour’s drive south west from Maroochydore we find ourselves in the picturesque area of the Glass House Mountains which are a group of eleven hills that rise abruptly from the Sunshine Coast coastal plain’s hinterland. The mountains were named by Captain James Cook in 1770 as the peaks reminded him of the glass furnaces in his home county of Yorkshire. Today we are going to play against the friendly Glass House Mountains bowling club. We will stay on for some social time at the end of play.

Friday 2 August – Maroochydore to Coolangatta Day 10

Leaving Maroochydore today, we head south, stopping for a delightful included buffet lunch onboard the Kookaburra Queen Paddle Steamer, on the Brisbane River. After lunch we continue on to the Tweed Coast and our beautiful apartments at Reflections Two where there are great sea views and top class facilities, conveniently located by the beach in the centre of Coolangatta.
